Village of Mazomanie Public Works Department is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Laborer.

The laborer should be in good physical condition and able to proficiently operate a variety of hand and power tools as required to maintain village owned property and utilities. Such items include shovels, rakes, chop saws, jack hammers, chain saws, trimmers, skid loaders, commercial mowers, and dump trucks. The qualified applicant should have a minimum of two years’ experience in water and sewer system maintenance or construction and experience operating snow removal equipment.  The qualified applicant will possess a valid WI class B commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement at the time of application. Successful completion of WI DNR Groundwater and Distribution certification within two years of hire is required.

Typical working hours are 7:00a.m. thru 3:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday, however, after hours, holiday and weekend work may be required based on need.  Public Works employees work in a team environment and have frequent customer interaction. A positive attitude and excellent customer service skills are required. Finalists for the position may be required to perform a practical skills test demonstrating knowledge of tools and equipment.
