8:00 – 9:00 Introduction to and Overview of Pumps
9:00 – 10:00 Submersible Pump Parts and Functions ~ Key components covered include: Terminal Boards, Stator/Cable Connections, and Cable Entry.
10:30 – 10:30 Motor Overview ~ This section will cover Pump Rotation, Nameplate Data, and Housing.
10:30 – 11:00 Stator Overview, Removal, and Installation ~ Motor winding and insulation will be discussed.
11:00 – 11:30 Motor Maintenance ~ Maintenance strategies for bearings, shafts and rotors. Special tools and cooling systems will be discussed.
11:30 – 12:00 Dry Motor Compartments
12:00 – 1:00 Lunch (Provided)
1:00 – 1:30 Hands-on pump Demonstration
1:30 – 2:00 Pump Components Demonstration
2:00 – 3:00 Tear down and Rebuild of Pumps
Course Instructor: Joshua Voigt, Xylem, Inc.
Course material will include PowerPoint Presentations, videos, and hands-on activities. The textbook used for all classroom lectures will be The Flygt Pump “Product Education Manual” and can be taken with the attendee at the end of the course. Dress will be casual – the handling of some equipment may be dirty.
