RURAL WATER E-NEWS …………………………….……….….…………………………….   10/9/2024

I have been getting a lot of contacts for volunteer work/equipment for the areas affected by Hurricane Helene. Our Rural Water Associations from the surrounding states are all in these areas doing what they can. There is very little electricity, and it is very difficult to travel in those areas. Debris is being cleared, but it is going to be a while before it is accessible. I will put out a notice if there is a call for volunteers as I know we want to help take care of our neighbors, even from other states! If you really want to help right now, please sign up to our Rural Water Strong program which is working to secure funding for USDA Rural Development. They fund a lot of emergency response and recovery in these areas and are often times the major contributor towards restoring services and replacing the damaged infrastructure. With Milton coming in right on the heels of Helene, it will hamper recovery for another period of time, so sign up today to make a difference sooner.  (nrwa.org)

Wastewater Analysis for Disinfection & Nutrients class for testing your disinfection and nutrient removal (Phosphorus and Nitrogen) is coming to the WRWA Technology Center on October 15th. This is a great class, and we have technicians from Hach coming in to assist in the training. Should be a great opportunity! Wastewater Operations: Wastewater Analysis for Disinfection & Nutrients (6 Wastewater Credits) | Wisconsin Rural Water Association (wrwa.org)
