(6 Continuing Education Credits for: Municipal Water Operator, Commercial Plumbing Inspector, Journeyman Plumber, Journeyman Plumber-Restricted Appliance, Master Plumber, Master Plumber – Restricted Appliance, UDC-Plumbing Inspector, Professional Engineers)
Cross connection control surveys are required by the Wisconsin Administrative Code. Water utilities throughout Wisconsin are responsible for the surveys in their communities. This 6-hour class will give participants the core knowledge needed to begin conducting cross connection control surveys at Residential and Light Commercial type facilities.
Class Agenda:
8:00 am – 9:00 am: Cross Connections – How, Why and Where – Photo and Video Review
9:00 am – 10:00 am: NR810.15 Review and Enforcing correction actions with a local cross connection control ordinance
10:00 am – 11:00 am: Backflow preventer basics – What goes where
11:00 am – 12:00 pm DSPS Plumbing Code – All relevant CCC chapters
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm: Break
1:00 pm – 1:30 pm: Comprehensive Survey Forms Record Keeping
1:30 pm – 3:00 pm: Hands on survey exercises at WRWA Training Lab
Instructors: Gary McLaren of HydroCorp and Rich Davison of Soderholm & Associates. Gary McLaren and Rich Davison have instructed Cross Connection Control classes for WRWA since 2012.
CLASS SIZE IS LIMITED TO 35 PARTICIPANTS
