Village of Sussex is accepting applications for the position of Water Utility Intern. This position will have the opportunity to gain relative experience in the water utility while assisting the utilities in its day-to-day operations. School credits can be earned through the internship if necessary.
Dates: May – August (These dates are flexible)
Daily Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (up to 40 hours per week)
Duties and responsibilities
- Daily sampling/testing of drinking water
- Plant and distribution system maintenance
- Hydrant flushing
- Locating utilities
- Building and grounds maintenance
Minimum Requirements
Candidates should be enrolled in a 2- or 4-year degree program in a related Environmental field and possess a valid state-issued driver’s license.
Benefits
Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
