City of Hudson, WI. (Serving over 18,000 customers) is seeking to fill a full-time Wastewater Utility Operator position within the Hudson Public Utility Department.
Position in Brief: Performs service tasks in the installation, repair and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and collection system in order to maintain proper standards in quality and quantity. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Lead Wastewater Utility Operator.
The operator will assist with performing all duties associated with the operation of a municipal wastewater system, plant maintenance, contractors, engineers, shop work, office work, public relations and will possess a working knowledge of Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS), Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent degree. Preferred, (but not required) at least six months of experience within a Municipal Utility Department supplemented by trade school courses related to plumbing, electrical or mechanical; maintenance experience is highly desirable; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed. A current Wisconsin Municipal General Wastewater Operator Certification is desirable or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire. Must possess a valid driver’s license and Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or the ability to obtain a (CDL) within 1 year of hire.
The salary range is $31.79 to $33.17/hour DOQ, plus full benefits.
