Electrical Inspector 

City of Fond du Lac is accepting applications for the position of Electrical Inspector in the Inspections Division of Community Development. This full-time position (38.75 hrs/week) will report to the Chief Inspector and perform inspection work as needed in securing compliance with electrical codes, building codes, zoning codes and related city ordinances (fences, driveways, pools, floodplain zoning, etc.) and other duties as assigned.

Various duties and responsibilities include:
 Conducting plan reviews on minor alterations and zoning requirements
 Issuing permits
 Providing assistance to the general public on electrical, building and zoning requirements

Requirements include:
 State Certification as Commercial Electrical Inspector or able to obtain within 3 months of hire
 Master Electrician Certification or able to obtain within 3 months of hire
 UDC Building Inspector, or able to obtain within 6 months of hire
o Additional certifications a plus
 High school diploma, technical college degree with at least 4 years of inspection/electrical experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities
 Customer service and experience working with general public a plus
 Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
 General office duties

SALARY RANGE: We offer a competitive compensation package ($33.51 – $35.42/hour) based upon knowledge, skills, and abilities with potential to receive additional step increases based on meeting and/or exceeding goals/expectations; annual COLA and step increases pending City Council approval of budgets; and future promotional opportunities in alignment with succession and career path.
