Wisconsin Rapids Water Works and Lighting Commission is looking for a qualified applicant to fill the position of Filter Plant Operator. This position is responsible for maintaining state and federal standards for drinking water, water plant and lab testing, must have the ability to perform basic calibrations on equipment used in the laboratory and treatment process. Shift work is required, must be able to work weekends and holidays and is subject to call-in.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with a two-year degree in an associated field desirable. Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Must be highly motivated and must have the ability to work without direct supervision. Must have the ability to perform heavy physical lifting (50 lbs.) on a regular basis is a requirement. Must possess or be able to obtain DNR licensing for groundwater, distribution, oxidation and filtration.
Selected candidate must successfully pass a physical including drug screen and a reference and background investigation.
