City of Oconomowoc is currently seeking a First-Class Water Operator. This position is responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, and infrastructure needs of the City’s Water Distribution System.
Requirements:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Water and/or wastewater related field experience required. Municipal experience preferred.
- Associate degree in a water-related program and/or equivalent education preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DNR Grade 1 Groundwater and Distribution Operators License within one year of hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Cross Connection and Backflow Prevention Certification within two years of hire.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience to be considered.
Special Requirements:
- Ability to possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) from the State of Wisconsin within 1 year of hire.
- The employee must be able to report to work.
- On-call weekend rotation required.
- Occasionally work weekends, holidays, and must be able to respond to emergency call-ins, work overtime, and report to work with little or advanced notice.
- Obtain CPR/First Aid training certificate within six months of hire.
Competitive Wages and Benefits; $27.42/hr. to $33.73/hr. depending upon experience with excellent benefits including Wisconsin Retirement System pension.
