Kaukauna Utilities is looking for a hands-on, mechanically inclined individual to join our Maintenance team as a Junior Mechanical Technician. This is an entry level role where you’ll assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing power plant machinery and equipment. From working with motors and hydraulic systems to helping monitor water turbines and generators, you play a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining various types of motors, control pumps, electrical and mechanical valves, hydraulic systems, water turbines, and generators.
- Perform rack raking, general housekeeping of structures, dam maintenance (board & pins), tainter gate operations, and building maintenance.
- Operate loader/backhoes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
- When necessary, assist outside contractors in the maintenance of various power plant equipment.
- Perform routine lubrication and other services to equipment and machinery as required.
We’re looking for someone with a high school diploma who is either already enrolled or willing to enroll in a Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship Program (or equivalent).
You should be comfortable working in all kinds of conditions-including cold weather, confined spaces, and elevated structures.
