Laboratory Intern at the Wastewater Treatment & Resource Recovery Facility (WTRRF)

City of Fond du Lac is accepting applications for the position of Laboratory Intern at the Wastewater Treatment & Resource Recovery Facility (WTRRF).  This seasonal position will have the opportunity to learn quantitative and qualitative laboratory techniques used for wastewater analysis including area industries, sanitary districts and waste haulers.

Various duties and responsibilities will include: Sample setup and analysis including total phosphorus, total suspended solids, ammonia, BOD, COD, fecal coliform, nitrates, alkalinity, volatile acids, transmittance, and pH; laboratory maintenance and data entry.

Requirements include high school graduation and ideally current enrollment in a two or four-year college program in chemistry, biology or related science. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft applications is ideal. Scheduled hours are from approximately May – August from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mondays – Thursdays with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, and 7:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Fridays. All hours of any position may be adjusted to better utilize the employee’s time.

The pay rate is $14.53/hour. Applications reviewed upon receipt.
