Join Our Team as a Lead Water Utility Worker!
Pay Range: $29.11 -$33.27 hourly
We are looking for a seasoned professional to guide our water maintenance crew and ensure the city’s water systems are top-notch. If you have experience in water distribution system construction and enjoy leading others, you might be the perfect fit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Oversight: Serve as the lead for the Water Distribution maintenance crew, providing guidance and support. Inspect and measure newly installed water mains and services to ensure compliance with city contracts.
- Operational Duties: Oversee and execute repairs on water mains, services, valves and boxes, hydrants, and locate stop boxes and valves. Operate equipment essential to Water Distribution operations. Remove, read, test, and install water meters as needed.
- Administrative Duties: Complete all necessary paperwork for work assignments and ensure records are accurately maintained.
- Emergency Response: Respond to after-hours call-ins to assist with urgent repairs of water main breaks and service leaks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum two years in water distribution system construction and maintenance.
- License: Class B CDL with no air brake restriction is needed at the time of application.
