Lakewood Sanitary District is looking for a Plant Manager/Operator. Under the direction of the Sanitary Commissioners, the Plant Manager will be responsible for overall management of the Sanitary District Facility and the Town’s Collection System.
The Manager will also perform general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and be responsible for maintenance of all structures and grounds. The Manager will have supervisory responsibilities for part-time employee(s). Individual will also have to handle and process wastewater samples, maintain proper records of lab analysis, issue system permits and be available for off duty emergency calls.
The Manager needs to obtain a Wastewater Operator Certification from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WI DNR) within one year of hiring, if not already certified. The District will offer to assist with licensing during employment. All work will be done in compliance with WI DNR, EPA, Hazmat and OSHA safety rules and regulations and the Employee Manual.
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required. Basic computer skills i.e. e-mail, internet, and data entry is necessary. If you have prior experience in a maintenance role, we encourage you to apply for this position, however, we are willing to train someone without experience and background who possesses a willingness to learn.
Salary will be consistent with experience and certifications. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and pass drug screening.
