POSITION TITLE: Public Works Director
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Working Director position, overseeing maintenance of Village streets, sewer and stormwater facilities, parks, and wastewater treatment plant
- Supervises three full-time employees, plus additional seasonal staff
- Develops and manages department operating and capital improvement budgets
- Operates a variety of light and heavy equipment, including front end loader, snow plow, jet truck, brush chipper, etc.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Five years of experience in public works or related field with at least three years of supervision experience
- Associates Degree in civil or environmental engineering, construction management, or other closely related field
- Valid commercial driver’s license in the State of Wisconsin
- Wisconsin DNR Wastewater Operator License or ability to obtain license
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: Must reside within a 30-minute response time to the Village of New Glarus.
