Village of Holmen is accepting applications to fill a full-time vacancy in the Department of Public Works. The Public Works Laborer position will be responsible to perform multiple tasks, including: snowplowing, street maintenance, park maintenance, pool maintenance, water/wastewater system maintenance, meter reading, curbside wood chipping, landscaping activities and other public works functions. Some night, weekend and holiday hours will be required. The Village seeks a strong team member who is excited to invest in our community, and partner with an outstanding Public Works team.
Preferred qualifications include experience in municipal Public Works operations; valid CDL with classifications “B”, “C” and “D” and “N” endorsement, or ability to obtain, is a must; experience in municipal water/wastewater systems; certification from the Wisconsin DNR for wastewater/groundwater and/or distribution; knowledge of mechanical and electrical devices and the ability to repair such devices; ability to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions; ability to deal diplomatically with complaints; ability to apply Village policies and ordinances fairly and uniformly to specific situations; and ability to function as part of a team and communicate well with other employees and supervisors.
Laborer starting wage: $23.80/hr. to $35.73 DOQ/Certifications/Experience. The Village provides an outstanding comprehensive benefits package.
