Rice Lake Utilities, (Population: 9,020) is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Foreman until filled.

The Wastewater Foreman coordinates and supervises activities and/or workers engaged in the operation and maintenance for wastewater treatment system.  This includes laboratory performance and results, nine lift stations and 70 miles of conveyance.

This position is also part of RLU Succession Plan.  The candidate must have the ability and capability to take the lead role of Wastewater Superintendent when necessary.  Training will be provided internally for these duties.

Wi DNR Wastewater and Water Operator Certifications are required to operate treatment facilities.

The candidate shall hold or have the capability to obtain Advanced Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Certifications in Wastewater Subclasses: Biological Solids/Sludge Handling, Processing & Reuse, Biological Treatment: Suspended Growth Process, Disinfection, Laboratory, Nutrient Removal: Total Phosphorus, and Solids Separation within Two Years under NR 114.

In addition, Rice Lake Utilities requires a Certification in Water Subclasses:  Groundwater, Distribution.  If not current with this certification, the candidate will be expected to obtain within One Year of employment.

Rice Lake Utilities also requires a valid Wisconsin CDL- Class B

High School diploma or equivalent with completion of a technical school program in Wastewater Treatment. Must have a minimum of three years satisfactory experience in the operation of a Wastewater Treatment Plant and demonstration of mechanical aptitude (Required).

Two years of college training with major emphasis in chemistry or biological sciences, with two years satisfactory job experience in a Wastewater Treatment Plant (Preferred).

Over 2 years of Supervisory experience (Required).

Please note: Holiday and alternating weekend work is required.
