Village of Plover Water System is seeking applications for the position of Water System Operator.
This operator position involves: the operation and maintenance of the nitrate removal water treatment plant and related facilities, ability to use and maintain records in a GIS database, installation and maintenance work on the water distribution and metering systems, as well as other related work.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include good mechanical aptitude as well as the ability to operate various types of required equipment effectively and safely, administer sound judgment and work in a safe and effective manner, follow written and oral instructions, read plant and distribution systems drawings correctly, work well under adverse conditions, be in good physical condition without limitations, communicate effectively with the public and be unafraid of heights or working in close confinement.
Possession of Operators Certification, Groundwater, Distribution and Zeolite Softening (nitrate removal) in accordance with rules & regulations of WI DNR is preferred.
Upon successful training, the Water System Operator would work on an assigned schedule that will include 24-hour call out as needed and rotating weekends.
